Who We Are

Hard Hat Projects is led by Caroline Philipson, a highly experienced MRICS Building Surveyor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Surveying, BA(Hons) in Interior Design and over 18-years of experience holding senior roles with major brands in the UK and the Netherlands. Caroline's most recent role was as Head of Store Development at Ann Summers, where she is still retained as a consultant assisting in the transformation of their existing estate to the Black Concept.

Previous roles have included Store Development Director for Calvin Klein Europe, Senior Manager Store Development at Tommy Hilfiger Europe and Property Manager at The White Company.

Hard Hat Projects was created to assist companies of all sizes to improve and develop their Store Design and Roll-Out Concepts across existing estates and new developments.

What We Do

Working within blue-chip businesses and as independent consultants, we are equally well versed working for retail, investment or development clients. With a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams across Europe, the Middle East and Russia, we advise and manage the delivery of retail store design, quality control, procurement, space planning and condition survey matters.

We are conscious of the commercial requirements in any project and always meet budgetary targets, whilst respecting the cultural and environmental challenges presented.

Of course, the market conditions in any business are constantly changing and the requirements of each client is unique, so we approach every project with the flexibility to adapt our approach to any given situation.

Our Core Services

Store Development

With over 18 years experience in Retail Design and Roll Out programmes for The White Company, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Ann Summers. We can provide assistance with Feasibility Studies, Strategic Planning, Budget Forecasting, Project Programming, Procurement, Store Planning and Design, or Facilities Management, for any size of development programme. Consultancy is available both on Project by Project basis or fixed term Contract in your offices, we can be flexible to meet your business needs.

Project Management

From Concept to completion on minor works, refurbishments, relocations and new store builds. We have the experience to work with you to ensure your Project is delivered on time and in budget. With experience in managing works from £5k to £1.5m we have the knowledge and know how to ensure your brand is safe in our hands.

Building Surveying

We offer a wide range of services including Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations for lease matters, defect and pre-purchase surveys. Consultancy can also be given on leases and assistance with technical negotiation for liabilities.
